ROBBIN CROSBY'S CUSTOM SHOP GIBSON FIRE BIRD
I happen to be a giant RATT fan. So for me to own one of Robbin's guitars is a giant trill. The history behind this guitar is interesting. It was made for Robbin in 1985 in the Gibson Custom Shop. What sets this guitar apart from the regular fire birds is the full size factory installed humbuckers and the factory installed Floyd Rose. After owning the guitar for six to eight years, Robin donated it to the L.A. Hard Rock Cafe. The guitar still has the Hard Rock Cafe's sticker and identification number on the back of the head stock. Story has it that Robbin fell on to hard times and decided to get back the Fire Bird so that he could sell it. He sold it to a pawn shop on Sun Set Boulevard in Hollywood. A collector friend of mine who also lives in Chicago was in Hollywood at the time and bought it form the Pawn Shop. He owned it from 93 to 99. It now rest in my collection of guitars.
For the skeptics out there, in the April 1987 issue of Guitar Player Magazine, on page 58, there is an article written about Robbin where he talks about this very guitar. I was lucky enough to get the magazine and strap that was with it and worn by Robbin.
The last time any one who I know has seen this guitar was on the 91 Detonator Tour. If any one can provide me with more pictures or video of this guitar I would greatly appreciate it.
